Storage containers for sale and rental in Spain

A storage container is a shipping container used as a fixed, lockable storage unit instead of for transport. It arrives ready to use, needs no foundations and no building work, and can be moved again whenever your operation changes. We have been trading containers for over 40 years from our depot in Palmones, next to the Port of Algeciras. We sell and rent units across Spain and ship internationally.

Why a shipping container works for storage

A storage container keeps the structure of a shipping container, built to take years of handling at sea and on the road. That is what makes it work as a store: a sealed steel box that resists rain, wind, rodents and forced entry, and that keeps doing its job on a building site, in an industrial yard, on a farm or behind a shop. Unlike a conventional extension, it arrives ready to use, it can be moved to another site later and it can be fitted out afterwards with shelving, lighting, ventilation or extra doors.

Storage container sizes: 20 ft and 40 ft High Cube

The two most requested configurations for storage are the 20 ft standard and the 40 ft High Cube, for their balance between volume, transport cost and compatibility with European pallets. If you are not sure which size fits, tell us what you need to store and where the unit will stand, and we will size it for you.

Storage container grades: what you are actually buying

Container condition is graded, and the grade decides both the price and what the unit is suitable for. For static storage, wind and watertight (WWT) is what matters: the unit is sealed against rain and wind, and every container we supply for storage meets that standard unless you ask otherwise. Cargo worthy (CW) is a stricter certification for containers that will be shipped again by sea; you only need it if the unit will travel, not if it will stand on your site.

One-trip (new)

A container that has made a single journey from the factory. Effectively new, with the best exterior appearance and the longest service life ahead of it. The right choice when the unit will be visible, converted later or expected to last decades.

Grade A (used)

Inspected used units with normal marks of service but fully functional. The most balanced option between condition, durability and cost, and the one most of our storage customers choose.

Grade B (used)

Containers with a longer service history and visible wear, but still wind and watertight when classified as WWT. Well suited to static storage where appearance is not a priority.

Storage containers for sale or rent

The right option depends mainly on how long you need the space and how much the unit needs adapting. Beyond a certain period, buying costs less than renting, and we will tell you honestly where that line falls in your case.

Buying

  • For permanent or long-term needs.

  • New or used, in any grade.

  • Can be converted later with doors, windows, shelving or insulation.

  • The container becomes yours.

Renting

  • For temporary needs: a works programme, a seasonal peak, a move, a project with an end date.

  • The unit stays our responsibility.

  • It goes back when you are done, with the option to buy it instead.

Storage container delivery across Spain

Our depot is in Palmones, Los Barrios, beside the Port of Algeciras, one of the largest container ports in Europe. We deliver anywhere in Spain by road, placed directly on your site by crane lorry or self-loader, with no lifting equipment needed on your side. We also ship and transport internationally, including sea freight, and we confirm access and placement before dispatch.

What we handle:

  • Transport of containers of all sizes.

  • Delivery anywhere in Spain.

  • Unloading and placement with a crane lorry when the site needs it.

  • International shipping from the Port of Algeciras.

CSC plate, inspection and documentation

Every container built for international transport carries a CSC plate, the safety approval plate required by the International Convention for Safe Containers. For a container that stays on your land as storage it is not required; for one that will be shipped it is, and it must be in date.

  • What the plate records: the manufacturing data, the maximum gross weight and the approval reference of the unit.

  • Inspection: we inspect every unit before release and tell you its grade, its condition and whether its plate is current.

  • Buying remotely: we can send photographs of the actual unit before it leaves the depot.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a storage container?

A shipping container used as static storage rather than for transport. Same steel structure, same weatherproofing, but it stays where you put it.

What size storage container do I need?

A 20 ft unit covers most business needs. Choose a 40 ft High Cube when you are storing palletised goods in volume and have the space to site it.

Are storage containers watertight?

Yes, when classified as wind and watertight. Every unit we supply for storage meets that standard unless you ask otherwise.

What is the difference between one-trip, cargo worthy and wind and watertight?

One-trip is a condition grade, effectively new. Wind and watertight means sealed against the weather. Cargo worthy means certified fit to carry cargo by sea, which is stricter. For static storage, wind and watertight is what matters.

Do I need a CSC plate for static storage?

No. The plate is required for containers moving in international transport, not for a unit standing on your site.

Can I rent a storage container instead of buying one?

Yes. Storage container rental is available for every size and grade, and if you later decide to keep the unit, you can buy it instead.

Can electricity, shelving or ventilation be installed?

Yes. Containers can be fitted with lighting, power, shelving, extra ventilation, insulation and additional doors or windows.

Does the ground need preparing before delivery?

It needs to be firm, reasonably level and accessible to a lorry with a crane or a tilt trailer. It does not need foundations or a concrete slab.

Do you deliver outside Spain?

Yes. We sell and transport internationally, including sea freight from Algeciras.
